Farming techniques

The farming techniques are carried out in strict observance of nature and of our bees; this is why our Company is proposing that the certification body convert the farm to organic agriculture. The quality of a honey is mainly due to the strength and health of the bees, so we select the most docile and disease-resistant strains.

The wax sheets in the hives are replaced every 2-3 years to ensure better hygiene in the hives. The Queen bees are changed every two years in order to optimize our production technique. The hives are situated in appropriate areas (citrus groves, woods, chestnut groves, mountains), where they are placed on special platforms to avoid contact with the soil and to make the loading and unloading procedures quicker.
